Dec 04, 2009 (newstodate): Announcing its cargo statistics up to and including September 2009, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport seems to be on course for recovery - albeit at a low pace.
By the end of September, volumes so far into 2009 were 16 percent behind last year, but that was an improvement on August's 18 percent and July's 24 percent.
2009 opened with a drop by 33 percent, y-o-y, but has steadily climbed up again, with volumes totaling 36,827 tonnes by the end of September.
In September alone, the airport handled 4,148 tonnes of cargo, up four percent, y-o-y, including 1,830 tonnes of imports and 2,160 tonnes of export cargo.
The positive growth was secured by the exports that increased by 21 percent, while imports were still negative with a decline by 12 percent, y-o-y.
