Dec 02, 2009 (newstodate): The Estonian cargo GSA Air Proxy, based at Tallinn Airport, is not too dissatisfied with its performance in 2009.
-It has indeed been quite a turbulent year for us all, but Air Proxy has basically managed to maintain, and even slightly improve its share of the market, says Maanus Matlik, Air Proxy managing director since May, 2009, succeeding Helena Roots in the chair.
-As for revenues, we have performed quite well and at least remain in black figures in 2009, with improvements especially during the latter part of this year.
-As for number of shipments and cargo tonnage, we have seen improvements on several routes. But while the number of shipments have remained rather stable in 2009, volume per shipment has decreased, probably reflecting a change in logistics patterns by our customers.
-While Q1 was definitely not good, we have seen trends improving over the year, and Q3 has indeed been quite good, indicating a development that has continued so far into Q4, says Mr Matlik.
EGSAC-member Air Proxy has offices in Tallinn, Estonia, and Riga, Latvia, with SAS Cargo, Lufthansa Cargo, CSA, Singapore Airlines Cargo and airBaltic Cargo among its airline customers.
