Dec 11, 2009 (newstodate): Pending final clearance and subject to change due to weather and other factors, Boeing has now announced the window for first flight by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to open on December 15, 2009, at Paine Field in Everett, Washington.
Originally scheduled to enter service in May 2008, production has been delayed multiple times, and in August 2009, the scheduled service entry date was pushed back to the fourth quarter of 2010.
All Nippon Airways will be first carrier to receive the long-awaited Dreamliner.
Orders for the Boeing 787 aircraft now total 850 units from 55 customers, but orders for 70 units were canceled during the year citing production delays as the cause.
