Nov 04, 2009 (newstodate): The sale of the Swedish Skyways Express will not have any impact on Skyways' plans for its future at Vilnius Airport.
-The sale of Skyways concerns only the Skyways production company, or airline, while the Skyways marketing company that has established flights at Vilnius Airport remains unaffected, says Peter Browall, Skyways AB CEO.
-We buy the production capacity where it is suitable to the purpose, and I can reassure the market we are continuing our twice-daily flights from Vilnius to Stockholm as planned.
-We are also determined to pursuing any future expansion plans for the Lithuanian market. The pace of development will be determined by a future recovery of the market that is still very depressed. But once the situation improves, we will consider feasible business opportunities and benefit from the fact that we are already well-positioned in Vilnius and enjoying a good cooperation with all parties involved, says Mr Browall.
The airline Skyways Express has been sold by its former owner, the Salen Group, to the airline's CEO, for the price of one Swedish Krone - a deal to be confirmed at the forthcoming Skyways board meeting on November 11, 2009.
