Nov 17, 2009 (newstodate): Korean Air Cargo's freighter service at Sweden's Luleaa Kallax Airport will certainly be restored.
That is at least the statement by Kallax CargoAirport's director marketing as Korean Air Cargo has decided to put the service on ice.
-What went wrong? Obviously the loads of Norwegian salmon and crabs are currently too low to sustain the operation, and the Thursday flights proved unattractive to exporters of other cargo, who will prefer a late-week flight, says Ola Nordstrom, Kallax CargoAirport director marketing.
-90-95 percent of the loads on the flights remained seafood, and we needed general cargo from the markets in northern Norway, Sweden and Finland to secure optimized utilization of the capacity.
-I am, however, confident that the service will be resumed within, say, three weeks, but it is of course up to the carrier to decide on this, says Mr Nordstrom.
