Nov 24, 2009 (newstodate): Repair and modernisation work is close to finished at Russia's Anadyr Ogolny Airport in Siberia.
The latest repair work has been resurfacing of 800 m of the airport's 3,500m runway as well as implementation of a new water drainage system.
Also to be commissioned is a new ILS system to provide enhanced operational safety.
The projects are to finally completed after certification by the end of November 2009.
The airport is certified to handling of traffic by Boeing 767, Tu-154, IL-76, and IL-96 aircraft.
