Nov 12, 2009 (newstodate): As other aircraft projects under development, Russia's Sukhoi Superjet 100 will be delayed in deliveries to its first airline customers.
The Armenian carrrier Armavia and Aeroflot were poised to take delivery of their first Superjets in December this year, but the time-line has now been extended due to problems with certification and assembly of the Russian-built PowerJet SaM146 engines.
The deliveries were originally scheduled for late 2008, but in July 2008, Sukhoi announced that the first deliveries would start from December, 2009.
Armavia is to take the first two Superjet aircraft, followed by deliveries to Aeroflot that has placed orders for 30 aircraft.
