Nov 27, 2009 (newstodate): After several years of talks, the Russian state will relinquish its ownership of Ufa Airport, in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The change will allow Bashkortostan to seek private investors to support the continued redevelopment of the airport infrastructure.
In the plans is the construction of a new passenger terminal and other pertinent facilities.
Ufa Airport, one of Russia's 12 strategically important gateways and home base for Bashkortostan and Ufa Airlines, has two runways with taxiways and two airport terminals with a combined capacity up to five million passengers.
