Nov 06, 2009 (newstodate): Russian carrier Atlant-Souyz is an unstable airline customer at Latvia's Liepaja Airport.
Although repeatedly announcing decisions to re-introduce flights between Moscow and Liepaja, the carrier has again retreated and will not come back to Liepaja this winter, still considering to return in the spring 2010.
Atlant-Soyuz earlier planned to launch flights from Moscow Vnukovo Airport to Liepaja, Latvia, from October 1, 2009, using Embraer 120 aircraft on the route.
Atlant-Soyuz first started serving the route three times weekly on August 26, 2008, but pulled out already in March, 2009.
When launching the route in 2008, Atlant-Soyuz aired interest in considering potentials for adding flights in the future from Liepaja to destinations including Helsinki, Stockholm, Berlin, Prague, Warsaw, Kiev and St Petersburg, and even from Liepaja to Copenhagen and Hamburg in the longer perspective.
