Nov 23, 2009 (newstodate): The Russian government has transferred the Grabtsevo Airport, in the country's Kaluga region, to regional ownership.
The state will retain responsibility for the runway and other basic infrastructure of the airport, while the region will now be set free to seek investors to support plans for a modernisation and expansion of the airport that has one 2,200m runway and traffic with only smaller aircraft.
