Nov 26, 2009 (newstodate): Russia's St Petersburg Region may see the construction of a new airport.
As part of the region's plans for the transport infrastructure till 2025, a new civil airport may be built to serve as a back-up resource for relieving pressure on St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport from low-cost and other traffic.
The region's department of transportation is currently evaluating suitable locations for the proposed airport.
