Nov 24, 2009 (newstodate): "Technical snags" has allegedly forced Norway's Sundt Atlanta Skybridge to postpone the first flight, originally slated for November 28, 2009.
Instead the company's freighter aircraft will perform its inaugural flight from Oslo to New York and Miami on December 2, 2009, an industry source confirms.
The airline plans to operate two weekly rotations between Oslo, Norway, and New York/Miami in the USA, using an Air Atlanta Icelandic Boeing 747-200F freighter on the route.
The project is a joint-venture between the Norwegian carrier Sundt Air and the Icelandic ACMI provider Air Atlanta Icelandic, and managed by Arild Jaabaek as managing director.
Initially the first flight was expected by the second week of November 2009.
