Nov 03, 2009 (newstodate): Air cargo volumes are rising at the Faroese Islands' Vagar Airport.
In October the airport handled 62.4 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 72.9 percent over last year.
The increase in cargo volumes for the first ten months of 2009, compared to last year, is 23.3 percent, to 468.2 tonnes, and cargo volumes have exceeded 2008-levels every month since June.
The airport's mail volumes are, however, falling all through the year and accumulated volumes are now 12.4 percent below 2008-levels, or 266.4 tonnes.
