Nov 26, 2009 (newstodate): Kazakhstan is working hard to have its airlines removed from the EU black list.
The list currently prohibits EU operations by some 70 Kazakh carriers, with Air Astana as the single most outstanding exception.
Kazakhstan hopes to see the state-owned carrier Berkut Air, based at Almaty, removed from the EU black list already from the coming revised issue, and is working hard to gain access to EU airspace for more of its carriers after that.
