Nov 10, 2009 (newstodate): After a disastrous start of the year 2009, Lithuania's Vilnius Airport is gradually regaining its breath as to cargo volumes.
Still hurt by the shortfall of air traffic due to the general downturn in the industry and the demise of Lithuania's national carrier from the start of the year, Vilnius Airport reports its cargo volumes down by 15.7 percent, y-o-y, in October 2009, to 411 tonnes.
This is a significant development seen against this year's accumulated drop of volumes by 27.3 percent to 3,438 tonnes, and indicates a sustained narrowing of the gap in volumes against the booming 2008.
