Nov 17, 2009 (newstodate): The German carrier Blue Wings has dedicated three Airbus A320 aircraft for flights between Iraq and Europe, offered jointly by Iraqi Airways and Blue Wings.
The arrangement is one result from the long-term cooperation agreement signed in August between Blue Wings and the Iraqi Ministry of Transportation.
Under the agreement Blue Wings will support the national Iraqi airline, Iraqi Airways, in the expansion of its international business.
17 airlines participated in the tender opened by the Iraqi Ministry of Transportation - and Blue Wings emerged as the winner also thanks to the fact that in June 2009 it became the first German airline to restore direct flights to Baghdad.
