Nov 02, 2009 (newstodate): Preparations are progressing for the launch of freighter flights between Oslo and New York/Miami.
Norway's airport slots coordination now confirms that slots have been allocated for the start-up airline's Wednesday and Saturday flights from Oslo Gardermoen Airport, with returns on the following days.
Behind the application is Air Atlanta Icelandic that owns and operates the Boeing 747-200 freighter on an ACMI agreement.
In the cockpit will also be pilots from Sundt Air, the Norwegian partner in the JV, alongside pilots from Air Atlanta Icelandic's own staff.
The slots have been granted from November 4, 2009 - but the actual start is currently expected only by November 28.
