Nov 20, 2009 (newstodate): As part of the process to corporatize Sweden's CAA, Luftfartsverket, the six non-strategic airport currently owned by LFV will be put up for sale.
10 airports have been designated at strategic interests, including Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, Kiruna, Luleaa Kallax, Malmo Sturup, Ronneby, Stockholm Arlanda, Stockholm Bromma, Umeaa, Visby and Aare Ostersund.
The remaining six airports are Angelholm, Skellefteaa, Ornskoldsvik, Sundsvall and Karlstad, and Jonkoping.
So far only Jonkoping Airport has secured its future as it will be taken over by the Johkoping commune from December 1, 2009.
The fate of the remaining five airport remain in the balance.
