Nov 16, 2009 (newstodate): Finnair is today seeing its aircraft parked on the ground by a strike among cockpit crew members.
Finnair was thus forced to cancel nearly all long-haul flights departing from Helsinki on Sunday as well as European flights departing on Sunday and returning on Monday, and all scheduled flights on Monday have been canceled.
Only leisure charter flights are still running, the company says.
The strike will have a strongly negative effect on Finnair Cargo's frail recovery in volumes as seen in October, especially the crucial Asian traffic.
