Nov 18, 2009 (newstodate): Armenia's flag carrier, Armavia is to continue its fleet modernisation and expansion plans into 2010.
The carrier took delivery of a new Airbus A319 aircraft by the beginning of this year, and plans are to acquire a new Airbus A330-200 aircraft by the start of 2010, enabling to carrier to open up new long-haul routes.
Unconfirmed reports have earlier stated that Armavia is preparing for the opening of a new route between Yerevan, Armavia, and New York and Los Angeles.
In 2009, Armavia has also put two new CRJ-200 aircraft in operation on routes from Yerevan to Mineralny Vody, Stavropol, Voronezh, Zurich, Athens and Rome
