Oct 29, 2009 (newstodate): The planned start of the freighter service from Norway to USA has now been re-scheduled for November 28, 2009, a few weeks later than originally envisaged.
The delay is reportedly caused by snags in the technical documentation process.
-The applications for traffic rights and slots are handled by Air Atlanta Icelandic, but as far as I know the DOT has finalized the license, and slots at Oslo Gardermoen Airport have also been granted. There are, howver, still a few issues with the technical documentation pertaining to the aircraft, says Arild Jaabaek, Sundt Atlanta Skybridge CEO.
-We will operate twice weekly, on days 3 and 6 from Oslo, and days 4 and 7 from USA. This will provide convenient deadlines for exporters and imports at both ends of the route, and we will be in place to take part in the pre-Christmas cargo traffic offering trans-Atlantic main-deck capacity, says Mr Jaabaek.
