The Kirovograd province has decided to revitalize and privatize a former military airport, now abandoned after serving briefly as a commercial airport when the air force base was decommissioned after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The regional airport today suitable only for aircraft in the Yak-40 and An-24 class.
One 1,300m runway operational while another 1,318m runway needs redevelopment.
