Oct 13, 2009 (newstodate): The Russian airport investment company Novaport has turned its attention to Kaliningrad's Khabrovo Airport that is deeply affected by the demise of its former leading carrier, KD Avia.
Novaport has reportedly acquired 25 percent of the shares in Khabrovo Airport and plans to invest heavily in its continued developmend.
In consequence, Novaport has backed out from the project to develop Ukraine's Odessa International Airport after winning the tender in February 2009, beating Vienna Airport, a Spanish group, Elecnor, and a Ukrainean consortium.
