Oct 12, 2009 (newstodate): Swedish telecom manufacturer Ericsson's decision to consolidate its logistics center at Boraas, in southwestern Sweden, arouses further optimism at the region's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.
-We are of course happy with this move. The new Ericsson logistics hub is only 25 minutes by truck from the airport, and only 45 minutes away from Gothenburg Harbor, says Brett Weihart, Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.
-Seen from a logistics perspective, the decision by Ericsson seems extremely wise, and we are confident that we will also see an increase in Ericsson volumes through the airport once the new facilities are opened.
Ericsson is the largest buyer of airfreight in Sweden and one of the biggest in Europe.
