Oct 28, 2009 (newstodate): Russia's new LCC Avianova has selected the UK company Airline Services Components Ltd to provide wheels and brakes support to its Airbus A320 aircraft.
ASC will support Avianovas wheels and brakes under a CPAL, Cost Per Aircraft Landing, pricing agreement turning fixed costs into variable costs attractive for a start-up airline.
Avianova, set up in January, 2009, by the Russian investment group A1 Group, has launched operations from Moscow Vnukovo Airport with two leased, ex-US Airways Airbus A320 aircraft on a route network comprising seven domestic destinations - Sochi, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Astrakhan, Samara, Naberezhnye Chelny and Kazan.
The first flight was performed on August 27, 2009, on the route to Sochi.
