Oct 21, 2009 (newstodate): The new carrier under formation, Lithuania Express will aim at fast expansion once the final decision to go has been made.
Currently in the research phase expected to last until December, the Icelandic investors behind the projected airline plans to first launch flights from early 2010 to Copenhagen, Berlin and Amsterdam with one Boeing 737-700 aircraft, but plans are to expand soon thereafter with a second aircraft to open up a further three to five European destinations, yet to be named.
Investors include three legal entities and eight private individuals, and one of the legal entities involved is holding already a Danish AOC that will only need verification by the Lithuanian CAA to allow for unrestricted operations by Lithuania Express.
