Oct 14, 2009 (newstodate): Poland's air navigation service provider, PANSA has announced huge increases in its fees levied on air traffic through the country's airspace as well as for flight operations in and out of Polish airports.
The proposed rates scheme will increase fees by 32 percent for overflights and by 62 percent for landings at and starts from Polish airports.
As the reason for this significant rates hike, PANSA cites the need for compensating the loss of traffic during the current crisis in aviation.
From 2012, the European Single Sky project would replace monopoly pricing with a system based on cost-efficiency and performance targets, preventing national airnav rates scheme hikes.
