Oct 12, 2009 (newstodate): Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport is seeing a slight easing of downward trends in cargo volumes in the latest months of 2009.
During the first eight months of this year, total cargo volumes were down 17.0 percent, y-o-y, while the decline in August was 14.1 percent and 12 percent y-o-y in July.
In January-August the airport handled a total of 51,954 tonnes of cargo, including 31,062 tonnes of international cargo, down 23 percent, and 20,893 tonnes of domestic cargo, down only 6.1 percent.
In August the airport handled 3,621 tonnes of international cargo, down 19.4 percent, and 2,519 tonnes of domestic cargo, down five percent.
