Oct 23, 2009 (newstodate): The succesful Scandinavian LCC Norwegian has confirmed an order for an additional six Next-Generation 737-800 aircraft.
With this order, Norwegian has a total of 48 Next-Generation 737 aircraft on order from Boeing as well as 22 aircraft from leasing companies.
Despite the general recession in the airline industry, Norwegian has managed to deliver its best-ever quarterly operating profit and is bent on opening a spree of new routes and destinations as its aircraft fleet expands.
Founded on September 1, 2002, Norwegian now operates a total of 45 aircraft serving more than 200 routes to 90 destinations.
