Oct 26, 2009 (newstodate): While a launch date for the planned freighter service Sundt Atlanta Skybridge between Oslo and New York/Miami has still not been announced, four pilots from the Norwegian JV-partner, Sundt Air have now been checked out to fly Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
So far Sundt Atlanta Skybridge has however confirmed that the aircraft type selected will be an Air Atlanta Icelandic Boeing 747-200F.
-Air Atlanta is known to take in two more Boeing 747-400F aircraft in October and November, and the Sundt Air pilots are expected to joint the Air Atlanta crew to operate these aircraft for Saudia Arabia Airlines while remaining on Sundt Air's payroll. But it seems reasonable to assume that the freighter service by Sundt Atlanta Skybridge will in the future be operated with Boeing 747-400F aircraft, says a Norwegian industry source.
