Oct 07, 2009 (newstodate): Iceland's LCC Iceland Express has no immediate plans for scheduled low-cost flights to Thailand.
While the carrier has now confirmed its decision to launch trans-Atlantic low-cost flights from Iceland to New York from June 1, 2010, the market's expectations for Iceland Express to also add flights to Bangkok from 2010 will not be met.
-We intend to operate two or three flights from Keflavik Airport to Bangkok during the summer 2010, but this is just to test out the operation and our experience from this will then be evaluated as to future projects, says Matthias Imsland, Iceland Express CEO.
As in the case of the Iceland-US flights, the operations between Iceland and Thailand will also be flown with Astreus' Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
