Oct 15, 2009 (newstodate): Icelandair Cargo is doing "basically OK" in a demanding market.
-Our import volumes are still weak, but slowly picking up. They are of course still nowhere near the unusual levels of 2007 or early 2008, when the crisis hit, says Gunnar Mar Sigurfinsson, Icelandair Cargo managing director.
-On the other hand our export volumes are still very strong and will exceed 2008-levels in the coming months. Again, also this year's export volumes will be far below 2007-levels.
-We have, however, adjusted capacity to the prevailing market situation, and on this basis we are running a sound and profitable business, says Mr Sigurfinsson.
