Oct 14, 2009 (newstodate): Estonian Air has secured right to operate the route between Tallinn and St Petersburg, Russia, till the end of this winter's schedule.
-Estonia and Russia have signed an aviation agreement according to which
we have a permission to fly from Tallinn to Moscow, says Ilona Eskelinen, Estonian Air communications manager.
-Until the special annex on St Petersburg is signed between two countries, we have to apply for a permission which is normally given for one season only.
-Estonian Air is thus ready to fly around the year but the final decision, which we really hope will come soon, is in the hands of the Russian authorities, says Ms Eskelinen.
On July 27, 2009, the carrier launched flights on the route between Tallinn and St Petersburg, offering four weekly rotations provided by the airline's subsidiary, Estonian Air Regional using SAAB 340 aircraft.
