Oct 12, 2009 (newstodate): Emirates SkyCargo is increasing its capacity in the Scandinavian markets as it takes over the full capacity on its thrice-weekly services at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.
Since September 13, 2003, Emirates SkyCargo has operated a Boeing 747-400F freighter service between Gothenburg and Dubai, extending to Hong Kong, in cooperation with SAS Cargo that held 2/3 of the capacity under a blocked-space agreement.
SAS Cargo has announced its decision to pull out from the agreement from October 25, 2009, leaving Emirates alone on the route.
It is widely know in the market that SAS Cargo offered its capacity at rates levels well below Emirates SkyCargo that has however braved the current storms without dipping rates as low as most competitors.
Emirates SkyCargo's capacity it sold and marketed in the Scandinavian markets by its GSA, Scanpartners.
