Oct 30, 2009 (newstodate): Air cargo volumes handled at the Czech Republic's Prague Ruzyne Airport was down 18 percent, y-o-y, during the first nine months of this year.
Together, the two handling providers, Skyport and Menzies Aviation generated a total of 41,333 tonnes of flown and trucked cargo during the period, exports and imports included, but excluding mail.
In September 2009, however, the combined decrease was only down two percent, y-o-y, indicating signs of recovery.
Skyport, however, saw its volumes rising two percent, y-o-y, in September, mainly driven by handling of long-haul traffic as China Airlines has increased frequency on its Boeing 747 freighter to Prague to three weekly rotations, and Korean Air sustaining its large capacity on the Boeing 777 passenger service to Prague from Seoul.
