Oct 02, 2009 (newstodate): Cargo volumes dropped 15.7 percent, y-o-y, in Denmark's Billund Airport in September 2009.
This was, however, a continued slight improvement indicating that the downward is still easing. In the preceding month the rate of decline was 17.8 percent, y-o-y.
In September the airline handled a total of 4,3208 tonnes of cargo, including 1,996 tonnes of imports, down 11.7 percent, and 2,342 tonnes of exports, down 18.7 percent.
Compared to performance in August, 2009, the relative easing is caused by re-bouncing exports that were down 23.2 percent in August. Imports, on the other hand, are still down by 11.7 percent in September and by 11.1 percent in August.
In the first nine months of 2009 the airport handled a total of 33,355 tonnes of cargo, down 22.2 percent, y-o-y.
