Oct 09, 2009 (newstodate): With effect from December 1, 2009, Air Canada Cargo has named its new GSAs in Denmark and Sweden.
In the Swedish market Air Canada Cargo sales will go to Heavy-Weight AB Sweden as earlier reported by newstodate.
In the Danish market the carrier's cargo sales will be entrusted to Heavy-Weight Denmark Aps - a new Heavy-Weight Sweden-subsidiary still under formation and to be managed by Nikolai Mariegaard, formerly with NordicGSA.
The choice of Heavy-Weight as cargo GSA in the two countries is driven by the cooperation between Cargo GSA companies H.W.F Sweden Group AB and Air Liaison to establish a single source GSA in the UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and Finland markets.
Air Liaison was thus already the GSA for Air Canada Cargo in other markets including the UK.
Since 1985 Air Canada Cargo was the launch customer of GSA Scandinavia that provided GSA services in all three Scandinavian markets till January 1, 2008 when sales in Norway were taken over by Airline Services GSA that was already the carrier's provider in Finland.
Serving Air Canada Cargo till December 1, 2009, GSA Scandinavia is reportedly in the process of pulling out from the market.
