Jan 13, 2009 (newstodate): The troubled Slovakian LCC SkyEurope has been forced to hand six Boeing 737 aircraft back to their owner, leasing company GECAS.
The carrier will have to rely on short-term wet-lease arrangement with other operators, including Air Slovakia, Seagle Air and Danube Wings to keep its planned flights in the air.
The longer-term future of the carrier will require further commitments and fresh capital injections from investors.
