Jan 6, 2009 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Transaero, IOSA certified in 2008, is upbeat about further growth in 2009.
Transporting 4.8 mio passengers in 2008, up 50 percent, y-o-y, the airline expects to grow passenger volumes in 2009 by at least 10 percent, thanks to new routes and more capacity.
Transaero received 12 new aircraft in 2008, including one Tu-214, two Boeing-777, four Boeing 747 including two Boing-747-400, four Boeing-767 and one Boeing-737, and is thus the only airline in Russia and CIS to operate both the Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 777 aircraft.
