Jan 23, 2009 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Ural Airlines, based at Yekaterinburg, has taken a new step in realising its strategy to carve a niche for itself in the air transport markets of Western Siberia and the Amur Region.
The carrier has announced plans to launch services on the route between Yekaterinbnurg and Krasnoyarsk, serving the route with Airbus A320 aircraft on a twice-weekly basis.
More new routes into Siberia are considered, as is the opening of routes to south-east Asia.
In 2008, Ural Airlines took delivery of four Airbus A320 aircraft, and four more aircraft will be delivered before summer, 2009.
