Jan 29, 2009 (newstodate): Russia's Pulkovo Aiport, at St Petersburg, expects to continue its drive for modernisation and expansion despite the current economic and financial turmoil.
By May, 2009, the airport hopes to announce a winner of the current tender for partners to invest in the ambitious development program that aims at turning the airport into an international hub serving more than 22 million passengers by 2025, and a 30-year management contract.
Included in the development program is the expansion of the existing Terminal 1 as well as construction of two new runways in addition to its current two, and a thourough upgrading of the airport's infrastructure and equipment.
