Jan 14, 2009 (newstodate): The new Swedish airline MCA Airlines that had its virgin flight on November 28, 2008, is readying for the introduction of an extensive flight program.
The carrier will operate flights from Stockholm Arlanda to eight destinations including a weekly flight to Baghdad, Iraq, from January 19, a weekly flight to Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, from March 6, and a weekly flight to Pristina, Kosovo, from May 19, 2009.
The carrier will also operate flights from Swedish airport Malmo Sturup to three destinations, including Baghdad, Iraq, once weekly from January 31, to Erbil, Iraq, once weekly from February 1, and to Pristina, Kosovo, once weekly from May 16.
Pending the granting of its own AOC and delivery of its first Airbus A321, expectedly by March or April, the carrier's flights are operated with MD-83 aircraft from Greek carrier Sky Wings Airlines.
Behind the airline, managed by Gabriel Potamitis, is a Swedish investor group.
