Jan 20, 2009 (newstodate): The Russian airline conglomerate Rosavia has now been officially registered, owned 51 percent by Rostekhnologii and 49 percent by the city of Moscow.
The new company will take over the route networks and aircraft fleets of KrasAir, Domodedovo Airlines, Samara Airlines, Atlant-Soyuz Airlines, Kavminvody Avia, Orenburg Avia, Saratov Airlines and Vladivostokavia, with more to follow.
Becoming thus a strong competitor to Aeroflot, Rosavia plans to eventually operate a fleet of some 200 aircraft, including 30 to 50 new Russian and western aircraft to be ordered.
