Jan 23, 2009 (newstodate): The air services situation in Lithuania remains unsettled after flyLAL's demise on January 17, 2009.
Efforts to sell flyLAL to a Swiss investment group failed, and the airline is now close to bankruptcy as no other potential investors are seen.
In the meantime SAS and its part-owned airline Estonian Air are reportedly in talks with the Lithuanian government over a plan to let Estonian Air take over services on the international routes out of Vilnius, Lithuania, currently left suspended.
