Jan 12, 2009 (newstodate): The second largest airport in Lithuania, Kaunas airport saw its passenger volumes increasing by five percent, y-o-y, in 2008.
The airport handled a total of 410,000 passengers, also due to Ryanair operations.
The airport launched several projects in 2008, including modernisation of its runway, and launched its new 10-year master plan.
Projects in 2009 include the taxiway construction, the replacement of the runway pavement, the development of an aircraft maintenance base, and the construction of business and general aviation hangars.
