Jan 16, 2009 (newstodate): Korean Air Cargo now confirms the launch of freighter operations at Sweden's Luleaa Kallax Airport.
-We will operate the first flight on January 20, 2009, starting out with a weekly service flying in from Frankfurt and continuing to Incheon, says Han B Lee, Korean Air Cargo manager Sweden.
-At Incheon, the cargo may be transferred to any other Korean Air CArgo flights to destinations in Asia, says Mr Lee.
Korean Air Cargo will sell capacity on the freighter both from Frankfurt and from Luleaa where the basic freight will be Norwegian salmon exports as well as Swedish and Finnish airfreight destined for Asian markets.
Earlier plans involved Cathay Pacific Cargo that, however, retreated from the operation.
