Jan 15, 2009 (newstodate): Aegean Airlines, the second largest airline in Greece, is mulling plans for more routes into Eastern Europe and Russia.
The carrier already operates flights from Greece to Romania, Bulgaria and Albania, but is not eyeing new routes to Serbia, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
Also high on the agenda of Aegean Airlines is the launch of flights to Russia, primarily Moscow.
Aegean Airlines, with its main base at Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport, Athens, and a hub at Thessaloniki International Airport, currently operates a fleet of 29 aircraft including A320, A321, Avro RJ100, and Boeing 737, and has placed orders for 27 Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft to replace the Boeing 737 fleet.
