Jan 14, 2009 (newstodate): The global economic recession is forcing Russian carriers to cut down or suspend services on several routes.
S7 Sibir Airlines has announced the suspension of flights on the route from Moscow to Dublin, Ireland, from January 18, 2009, but will return services when warranted by the market at a later stage.
S7 launched flights on the route in spring 2008.
Aeroflot is suspending flights on routes from Magadan to Krasnojarsk and Novosibirsk, and KD Avia is scaling back frequencies on a number of routes from Kaliningrad and suspending services altogether on routes from Kaliningrad to several Russian destinations including Volgograd, Nizhni Novgorod and Kazan.
