Jan 16, 2009 (newstodate): In the first 11 months of 2008, Moscow's three leading airports handled a total of 327,447 tonnes of cargo and mail.
Half of this, or 51.4 percent, was generated at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport that noted 168,410 tonnes of cargo and mail, 78 percent of which, or 131,189 tonnes, was international freight.
Moscow Domodedovo Airport handled a total of 133,351 tonnes of cargo and mail, or 40.7 percent of Moscow's total, dominated by domestic freight that accounted for 60.5 percent, or 80,696 tonnes.
Third came Moscow Vnukovo Airport with 25,686 tonnes of cargo and mail, strongly dominated by international freight, 22,206 tonnes.
