Jan 13, 2009 (newstodate): Although 300 m separation between aircraft in the air still meets international standards, it proved too close for comfort for an Armenian Airbus A320 aircraft.
On January 11, 2009, Armavia's A320 aircraft en-route between Yerevan and Sochi in Georgia's airspace met with an Emirates Airbus A380 aircraft en-route between Dubai and New York.
While the separation posed no threat to either aircraft, Armavia's smaller plane found itself in the turbulence zone after the A380 aircraft, and was tilted sharply to the left.
No damage was incurred, but Armavia has started an investigation to probe into the incident.
